New Job; New City

So, I've been silent for so long because I was working heavy hours on a very consuming project for my previous employer. However, I've now finished that project and moved on to what I hope is a very long term post at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), an I live in the Knoxville, TN, USA area now.

Although I am still deeply involved with LOPSA, and currently still serve on the Board of Directors, I am no longer a day-to-day system administrator. I now focus on security operations for the National Center for Computational Sciences (NCCS), which includes a fair amount of policy and audit related work in addition to the more technical aspects of developing tools and automation and working with the various system administrators on keeping things secure while supporting the mission for the systems we manage.

If you are in the Knoxville, TN area, drop me a note! I'm considering starting a LOPSA East Tennessee local chapter in the next few months as I settle in, so I'd love to hear from folks in the area.

Have I mentioned I love the Knoxville area? This is full of bright, friendly people, and Knoxville is like a southern Chicago with less people and less traffic. It's great!

This blog will contain extremely little that has anything to do with ORNL or NCCS or my work there and nothing pertaining to operational information that isn't already publicly available (and linked).
