Blitzkrieg Branding: a new class at PICC11
PICC11 is around the corner, and I'm teaching a completely new class!
Blitzkrieg Branding launches my new line of classes and talks on professional topics as a follow-up to the Mentorship talk I gave at PICC10. It is about how to market yourself as an IT professional; your project, whether open source or in-house; or your team's goals, members, or reputation. This class will help you learn how to sell yourself, project, or team, and it will show you how to leverage your community contacts - your people network - in person, online (with sites such as LinkedIn and Twitter), and in print.
Come join us at PICC11 and sign up for my class!
I'm sure you will be lifelong peers and colleagues - and even some new friends. I sure did last year, and I know I will this year.
The energy and enthusiasm at PICC is awesome, and it makes real things happen.
The excitement and energy that followed one of PICC10's most popular themes, Mentorship, was impressive. Tom Limoncelli in his keynote titled Smooth Operations: Improving the profession of system administration, talked a fair amount about mentors and their importance in our profession. As a result, my talk was a full of people hot on the topic - which was great!
Riding that wave of interest, I finally had the momentum to launch a project I've wanted for years - the LOPSA Mentorship Project (LMP).
The LMP has been incredibly successful to date, and it has helped LOPSA grow as an organization both in size and quality, as well as helping the participants grow personally and professionally.
Give it a try as a Protege or Mentor today!
See you at PICC11!
