Blitzkrieg Branding: a new class at PICC11

PICC11 is around the corner, and I'm teaching a completely new class!

Blitzkrieg Branding launches my new line of classes and talks on professional topics as a follow-up to the Mentorship talk I gave at PICC10. It is about how to market yourself as an IT professional; your project, whether open source or in-house; or your team's goals, members, or reputation. This class will help you learn how to sell yourself, project, or team, and it will show you how to leverage your community contacts - your people network - in person, online (with sites such as LinkedIn and Twitter), and in print.

Come join us at PICC11 and sign up for my class!

Twitter vs. Productivity: It doesn't have to be winner takes all

For five months now I've hardly read the Twitter stream of those I follow on the service. Also, I rarely tweet on anything except when my blog software sends a notice of a new post (via the Drupal Twitter Module), much like the automation on most news service Twitter accounts. I've been enormously productive.

Long time no blog...

So, apparently trying that blogging thing didn't work so well in the last several months of chaos. So, I think we're back to a variation of the same question:

Why blog?
